APC women present female governorship aspirant

Edo state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) was in a frenzy on Wednesday, April 6, as women across the party line presented Tina Agbara to the party’s leadership as the only female governorship aspirant in the forthcoming September polls.

Daily Post reports that Dr. A Amadesun, the APC women leader presented Agbara before the Barr Anselm Ojezua and the party’s state executives.

Amadesun said change should begin with women adding that Agbara is fully ready to build on the achievements recorded by Comrade Adams Oshiomhole.

“My party leaders, as you can see here today, the Edo women are here in thousands  in solidarity to our course of producing the first female Governor.

“The people you see here today are not just APC women, we have women across political line, including form PDP because their party too couldn’t feed any female aspirant. The market women, even the men are also behind us in this struggle,” she said.

In her address, Agbarha promised to build on the legacy of Governor Adams Oshiomohole adding that she would ensure the the security of lives and properties.

Meanwhile, Chief Mike Oghiadome, aide to former president Goodluck Jonathan has disputed claims in some quarters that he is eyeing the Edo state governorship seat.
